Jake and Abigail are siblings who squabble about the typical sibling things: Jake’s inability to properly pronounce the word “breakfast,” Abigail’s desire to be known as “Violet Rose.” Their adventures at home and at school are told in alternately narrated, episodic chapters. The family cat, Fluzzy, also gets a chance to share his point of view (and his desire for a new name).
Kathleen McInerney provides a brilliant performance. She is masterful at portraying Jake and Abigail, as well as their parents and assorted friends. Judy Blume makes an audio cameo as the voice of Fluzzy the cat. Overall, well-done and a solid recommendation for the early elementary crowd.
